MaryEllen Johnson, FNP-C, is a family nurse practitioner at Vigor Medical, a division of Healthstar Physicians, in Greeneville. A native of Mosheim, Tennessee, MaryEllen joined Healthstar Physicians in November 2025 and brings more than a decade of healthcare experience to her role.
MaryEllen began her healthcare career as a paramedic before becoming a registered nurse and ultimately pursuing advanced practice nursing. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from King University, Master of Science in Nursing from Western Governors University, and completed her Family Nurse Practitioner education at South College. Her background in emergency and hospital-based care provides a strong foundation for her work in family medicine.
Her clinical interests include preventive care and health maintenance, chronic disease management, women’s health, acute and same-day care, and patient education. MaryEllen is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board and is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She also welcomes pediatric patients.
MaryEllen values the opportunity to build lasting relationships with her patients and care for them through different stages of life. She believes in listening to their concerns and working together to improve their health through education, prevention, and individualized care.
Outside of work, MaryEllen enjoys life on her small farm and spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. She also enjoys traveling, especially trips to the beach and cruises, and making memories with her family.
