Dr. Shahin Assadnia came to the United States as a child from Persia. He always knew he would go into healthcare. Both his grandfather and father were in the medical field, and his father often took him into the operating rooms with him to watch procedures. After graduating from college, he got a job in Knoxville, Tennessee with Premier Surgical. While there, he and his wife fell in love with the scenery and down-home feel and decided to stay. He strived to start his own practice where he could concentrate on vascular and general surgery. Since Morristown did not have a vascular surgeon, he decided to build his office here. He wanted to offer patients the ability to be treated locally without having to travel to larger cities. With the opening of his practice, he is able to spend quality time with his patients to make them feel comfortable with their care. He loves the challenging and complexity of being a vascular surgeon. He finds his job rewarding when he sees his patients thrive and ultimately have a better quality of life due to having a procedure performed by him.

Dr. Assadnia has over 25 years’ experience. He is Board Certified in Vascular Surgery, accredited by the American Board of Surgery and Board Certified in General Surgery, accredited by the American Board of Surgery. He graduated from the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University and studied vascular surgery at Penn State University.

He was named Outstanding Surgical Resident at of the Year in 2000, and his other awards include First Place Presentation at the Toledo Surgical Society on “Strain Differences in Neoinitimal Hyperplasia in the Rat. He is member of the Hamblen County School Board. His hobbies include tennis, horseback riding and going on family trips with his wife and three children.
